Many tools, but no interfaces

Almost everyone is familiar with this scenario: For the many tasks in our professional or private, digitized everyday lives, there is a wide range of tools available. Many of these tools are specialized for a single task. For example: The website runs on WordPress, emails are handled via Gmail, social media is shared via Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, and tasks are tracked in Trello.

Most of these tools are poorly or not at all interconnected.. That's a shame. It would make sense if the podcast from Dropbox were miraculously posted to Facebook, or if the new Instagram post automatically appeared as a post on the homepage.

This will save you a lot of time.

The good news: There is a solution for this.. And if you're thinking: You need programming skills for that, right? Luckily, not anymore! Today there are interface services that handle this task, allowing anyone, even without programming knowledge, to connect different tools together.

There are several of them, but we chose the one with the simple usability for Zapier decided. This service can be used free of charge and offers interfaces to more than 2000 tools. The facilities are very comfortable.

Beispiel Workflow

You can now either create a simple workflow, such as automatically posting new files from Dropbox to Facebook. The principle is always the same: You take an existing trigger, e.g., "New file in Dropbox," and define what should happen in another service, e.g., "Create a post on Facebook." You can then customize the post using the parameters provided by Dropbox. These could be, for example, the filename or download link.
However, you are dependent on the triggers provided by the platforms. For example, Instagram does not offer the option to create posts via Zapier. We recommend taking a look at the Zapier website for more information.

Of course, you can also find our platform myCommuni on Zapier. We want to save time for both full-time and volunteer staff. This way, they only need to enter content on one platform. Posts from your myCommuni app can now be automatically shared on Facebook, your website, and Instagram. Posting a new calendar entry in the app is also no longer a problem. Feel free to contact us if you need help setting up these interfaces.
